Obama

Wow..what an amazing day in the history of the world. A new President Elect, Barack Obama.
I do not usually write about things political or religious on my blog. I believe that everyone has the right to have their own beliefs about things, as I do. But I do have to mention this monumental day in modern history. This man is truly inspiring. He is not my president, but this election has captivated me, or should I say this man has captivated me. The change that he brings, like a breath of fresh air. Also what he stands for, freedom, equality, hope, change, and shows us that anyone, anywhere can do anything they set their minds too. I sat and watched the speeches live on television this afternoon with my 7 year old daughter. We had talked alot in the last few days about the election in the US and discussed many things. I had her sit with me and watch Barack Obama give his speech live this afternoon just after school. She watched it, she listened to it, and she thought he was wonderful. We talked about how he was the first African-American (black) President. We talked about why that was so significent, and we talked about the 106 year old lady who voted. We talked about the colour of peoples skin, and the what that had meant, and what people had to go through. So I say thank you President Elect Obama, for giving me the oppurtunity to show my daughter that anyone can do anything they set their mind too. And that no matter the colour of your skin, your place of birth, age, race, religion or creed is no match for HOPE. God Bless You. image from "wemadejack&sam" on flickr

thanks so much Jo! I felt like changing it up but I wasn't sure if I liked the new header yet. I'm glad you like it! :)

I love that last pic on your post. So striking. It caught me off guard at first.
